Signing ceremony with the Fraunhofer IWKS

The Weiqiao (Suzhou) Lightweight Research Institute and the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Materials Recycling and Resource Strategies (IWKS) have signed a significant cooperation agreement. The formal signing took place online with the aim of promoting aluminum recycling technologies.

Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, as a global leader in applied research, plays a central role in the development of forward-looking technologies. The Fraunhofer IWKS focuses its research on circular economy, particularly in the areas of metallic materials, energy materials, and biomass.

This cooperation project focuses on the efficient recovery and recycling of aluminum and aligns with Weiqiao Group’s strategy of creating a closed-loop system in the aluminum industry. The collaboration highlights the Group’s commitment to green and sustainable development.

The Weiqiao (Suzhou) Lightweight Research Institute and the WEIQIAO European Technology Innovation Center will continue to foster international research cooperation and technological exchange. Through innovative projects and results, the international presence of the “Innovative Weiqiao” and “Technology Weiqiao” brands will be further strengthened.
