Weiqiao presents innovative lightweight solutions for the heavy-duty truck segment. All relevant vehicle components have already reached serial production maturity and are now being delivered in series. From project inception to series delivery, only six months elapsed — an exceptionally short development cycle. This achievement marks a significant milestone in the development of lightweight design in mobility and sets new benchmarks in weight reduction, structural stability, and overall efficiency.
- Super-Battery-PACK with 28% Weight Reduction
The Super Battery Pack is the first integrated ultra-high-capacity battery system used in the heavy-duty truck industry and also the largest battery enclosure in the sector. The main frame is made from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy, and the mounting points from 6082-T6 alloy, both formed using 7,500–9,000-ton extrusion presses. Its modular design ensures easy maintenance, while the aluminum technology reduces overall weight by 28% and lowers energy consumption.
- High-Strength Aluminum Diagonal Braces with 16% Weight Savings
The main frame and diagonal braces for the battery carrier are made from Weiqiao’s self-developed, high-strength, high-toughness aluminum alloy WQAL®-WHS series. By reducing the profile wall thickness from 3.0 mm to 2.5 mm, component weight was reduced by up to 16%. This new design not only provides significant weight advantages through the principle of “aluminum replaces aluminum” but also offers improved stability and ease of assembly.
- Multi-in-One Power Domain Controller Housing with 50% Weight Savings
Using high-pressure integrated die-casting technology and a 4400-ton die-casting machine, a highly precise one-shot molding of a housing measuring 870 × 740 × 150 mm was achieved. Made from ADC12 aluminum alloy, the product has a maximum wall thickness of 127 mm and an average wall thickness of 4 mm. The individual component weight was reduced by 50%, costs lowered by 25%, and total energy consumption decreased by 3% to 5%.
