WEIQIAO Germany GmbH as part of the advisory board meeting of AMAP

Düsseldorf, 11.03.2022

During the last weeks WEIQIAO Germany GmbH participated as a full member at the advisory board meeting of AMAP Research Cluster GmbH at the RWTH Aachen University. During the advisory board meeting topics included the future roadmap of AMAP, research directions and the start-up of collaborative innovation projects.

Another highlight was the 63rd AMAP Colloquium, where Prof. Dr. Kathrin Greiff, Chair of Anthropogenic Material Cycles (ANTS) of RWTH Aachen University, presented the potentials and challenges of a Circular Economy for Metals. The Circular Economy (CE) approach brings new dynamics to the discussion about the well-known concept of resource efficiency and is considered critical to achieving climate neutrality. The highly interesting presentation introduced the challenges of resource utilization in general as well as the possible strategies of the Circular Economy and discussed their applicability to the field of metals.

AMAP GmbH is the Aluminium Cluster at RWTH Aachen University. Currently, 14 industrial companies and 7 institutes of RWTH Aachen University are represented in the AMAP Cluster. The consortium of industrial companies and scientific institutes covers the entire value chain of aluminium materials. The members of the AMAP aluminum cluster agree on a pre-competitive objective as an essential prerequisite for sustainable and successful project work. The project members from industry and university collaborate effectively, interdisciplinary and across disciplines at one physical location in Aachen.
